Recycle all crisp packets through this programme
TerraCycle® and Walkers® have partnered to create a free recycling scheme for all crisp packets. The scheme also offers participants the opportunity to fundraise for their favourite school or charity.
The map below shows the public drop-off locations for this scheme, and we’re adding more all the time. Please keep checking this website to see whether a new location has opened near you, or get involved yourself!
We’re looking for people to set up public drop-off locations, where the public can drop off their used crisp packets. Please read below to find out more.
Participating is completely free and very easy.
When you want to post a shipment, download a free shipping label from your account, attach it to your shipment and then drop it off at your local post office or post box.
So we can recycle this waste properly - and in common with other household recycling - we would ask you to rinse out and dry your packets and place them in a box. Tape the box together securely ensuring there are no loose edges or corners. Print your label and attach it securely to the shipment.
Once collected, the crisp packets are separated by plastic type, cleaned, and extruded into plastic pellets to make new recycled products. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.
TerraCycle® points can be redeemed by collectors for a variety of charitable gifts or a payment to the non-profit organisation of their choice. For more information about our points programme, click here.
1 TerraCycle® point is worth €0.01.
2 kg = approximately 400 crisp packets
200 points = €2
Walkers is the nation’s favourite crisp brand. Founded in Leicester in 1948, Walkers produces many of the country’s best-loved snacks, including Walkers crisps, Walkers Sensations, Walkers Oven Baked, Quavers, Wotsits and Monster Munch. We’re committed to making all our snacks packaging 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable by 2025 – and are working to meet that ambition as fast as we can. In the meantime, we’re collaborating with TerraCycle so that we can recycle used crisp packets and reduce waste.
